It’s almost spring and thoughts of spring cleaning may be on your mind.  Along with sprucing up your home for the upcoming warm weather, it might be even more important to take some time to spruce up your finances.  Here are some ideas to get you started:

 

 

  • Review your credit report – you’re entitled to one free copy every 12 months
  • Get new quotes on your home and auto insurance
  • Shred old financial documents. Look around for local banks and credit unions that may be hosting free shredding events
  • Record financial passwords and store them in a safe place
  • Review your budget and set up automatic bill pay for fixed expenses
  • Review your investments and make adjustments if necessary

While you’re attacking those cobwebs in the corner of the spare bedroom, take a swipe at the dust collecting in some of the rooms in your financial house!
