Send Your Customers a Valentine: Remember how excited you were as a kid picking out a fun box of valentines with your favorite cartoon characters on them, and receiving little love notes with candy from all your classmates? Not to mention the giddiness you may feel today receiving a heartfelt card, flowers, chocolate, or a fancy meal from your significant other! Why not send your customers and clients valentines as well?
Consider developing a direct mail piece with either a witty phrase or sentimental message designed to mimic a traditional valentine. Include a piece of candy, fun promotional items, or a coupon to grab your customer’s attention. Nothing beats a fun surprise of an unexpected delivery. For your larger clients, consider hand-delivering a gift basket, a box of chocolate, or flowers to let them know you care!
Ask Your Customers for Feedback: Communication is the foundation of every great relationship. This month, figure out what your customers genuinely like about your business, and what may be some pain points they experience with your company, by asking for their feedback. Listen to what they have to say and address any issues they have. Two-way communication with your customers and clients is the best way to ensure their needs are being met and may save some headaches in the long run in the form of a negative review online.
Online survey programs like SurveyMonkey are very inexpensive to use but can garner the valuable feedback you need to increase your repeat customers. Take some time this month to go through and respond to online reviews – both positive and negative – to let your customers know their feedback is heard and appreciated. Subscribe to an online reputation software (contact us to learn more) to funnel all of your online reviews to one dashboard, and send out a couple of text message blasts to your customers to solicit even more reviews on sites like Google, Facebook and Yelp.
Don’t Forget About Singles: It’s easy to focus your marketing on love and romance this time of year, but don’t forget about the portion of your customer base that is single. Switch up your messaging on February 13th for Galentine’s Day (à la Leslie Knope) and February 15th for Singles Awareness Day. Another related holiday in February to have some fun with is “Love Your Pet Day” on February 20th. Use social media to get creative around these special days!
